Beginning at Southease, the walk ascends onto the spectacular ridge which runs from Southease to Alfriston. Climbing up to Firle Beacon, we find this spot offers amazing views across Sussex, on one side the sea, and on the other the Sussex Weald, with the planes at Gatwick taking off right in the distance. This ridge is of ancient significance, with many tumuli and long barrows along the way.
Although the bus driver will be familiar with the route and will walk with the group, the walk is not a guided walk. Walkers are responsible for their own navigation and welfare and are free to walk a different route if they choose. Although we will do our best to make sure everyone has a thoroughly good time, neither the bus driver nor The Big Lemon take any responsibility for the wellbeing of walkers whilst on the walk.
