Ouse Valley & Ardingly Reservoir
This walk largely follows the Sussex Ouse Valley Way, starting in the village of Ardingly and ending in Cuckfield. Ardingly is a picturesque Sussex village, which is home to The South of England Showground, and also Wakehurst Place gardens. The walk will pass Ardingly Reservoir, which provides the water supply for much of Sussex. Further along the walk will pass under the impressive Ouse Valley Viaduct, which stands at almost 100ft, carries the Brighton Main Line over the valley. The walk ends in the town of Cuckfield, where there are a selection of pubs to choose from, including the Wheatsheaf, and the Talbot.
The walk is about 7 miles, and is relatively easy terrain.
Although the bus driver will be familiar with the route and will walk with the group, the walk is not a guided walk. Walkers are responsible for their own navigation and welfare and are free to walk a different route if they choose. Although we will do our best to make sure everyone has a thoroughly good time, neither the bus driver nor The Big Lemon take any responsibility for the wellbeing of walkers whilst on the walk.
