Fairlight: Walk in the Footsteps of Dinosaurs
Fairlight offers a day out to remember! We will walk through bluebell woods and alongside a gurgling brook and beautiful waterfall at Fairlight Glen, and then head down to the beach where, if we're lucky, we may see some dinosaur footprint reliefs!
As the cliffs have eroded, the footprint reliefs have fallen away from the cliff where they have been protected for millions of years. They were formed when grit fell into dinosaur footprints and hardened, creating a stone relief of the footprint.
This is a more difficult walk than usual, with uneven and sometimes difficult terrain. Due to extra time this walk will take and the lack of nearby watering holes, we will not be stopping at a local pub but will instead stop for chips on the old town seafront by the fishing harbour in Hastings.
Due to the distance from Brighton we may not be back in Brighton until 6.30pm.
Although the bus driver will be familiar with the route and will walk with the group, the walk is not a guided walk. Walkers are responsible for their own navigation and welfare and are free to walk a different route if they choose. We will do our best to make sure everyone has a thoroughly good time, but neither the bus driver nor The Big Lemon take any responsibility for the wellbeing of walkers whilst on the walk.
